What do the different issues categories mean?

When running an analysis on your project, Codacy applies several patterns to your code. Each pattern will belong and report problems in one category.
These can be:

  • Error Prone - Code that can behave abnormally in production
  • Code Complexity - Complex code to be simplified
  • Code Style - Rules to specify a coding standard
  • Unused Code - Dead code that could be removed
  • Security - Security issues that should be addressed
  • Compatibility - Ensures backwards compatibility of your code
  • Documentation - Basic documentation checks
  • Performance - Issues that could have a performance impact in your code
